MacBook Pro Overheating issues?

So, I have a brand new Macbook pro, and aside from the bottom of the laptop getting hot enough to burn through my shorts....My White Charger Cord ( White square type thing ) will get FLAMING hot within 30 min of charging. I grabbed it yesterday and burned the **** out of my palm, it is like way too hot. I know mac overheating is a known issue, but is there anything I can do to fix/help this. by the way, it is so hot that there are little burn marks on the edges of the charger. the cords have not burned out or frayed...yet.
