What colour should paint my walls - cream with brown?

Hi, I am about to buy a new chocolate coloured sofa. We will be also be having a light beige colour carpet - I intend to do the walls cream (after reading loads of websites) and use red as accent colour with cushions etc.(hubby not too keen on duck egg or teal) I am wondering whether I should also do a feature wall? and if so was thinking red or chocolate? - we don't have a chimney breast. I am hoping the end result will be a really cosy room but not dark. It is a square room with a bay window on one wall and a fireplace on another.. Any suggestions? thanks very much
